Balsam Laboratory has been in the tunnel-boring industry for over 25 years, constantly pursuing new technologies and innovative methods for applying our products. In collaboration with research universities and a vast customer base, we have developed and refined technologies, methods, and materials that have contributed to over 500 km of successfully constructed tunnels worldwide.

From establishing our own laboratory in 2019, to setting the qualitative safety standard for shield grease, to developing the thixotropic construction method “Jello-Mud” and creating our own line of specialized tail seal grease, we continue to push the boundaries of tunnel excavation technology.
